Have you ever noticed how many gurus pitch their solution to your problem? And they do it without actually knowing what YOUR problem actually is?
I mean, it makes sense, right?
Everyone says “But wait, my business is different.”
And every coach says “It may have different nuances, but in the grand scheme of things it’s no different than any other business. And what I teach works for all businesses in this [niche/industry/service].”
So, if everyone says it, doesn’t there have to be some truth to that?
Yep, there is. Of course there is!
The strategies that will work for one business will work for the next, even if some slight modifications are necessary.
What is so often left out of the conversation is…
Will the same systems that worked for Joe work for you? Is Susan’s business model the one you want? Will Janet’s day to day give you the life you are working for and dreaming of? Does Yvette’s life require the same availability from her as yours does for you?
Of course not!
And that’s the piece that gets forgotten.
Yes, the actions that help one will most likely help you. The top level concepts and strategies that work for other businesses will work for yours.
But that doesn’t mean that the same systems and workflows that work for others in your industry will work for you.
YOU are the missing piece.
YOU are the forgotten.
So how is it that you can make sure YOU are represented in your systems and processes? How can you follow best practices, how can you learn from others if you are forgotten?

How do you choose what courses to take, what coaches to learn from and still make sure you are represented in everything you do? To make sure the business you build is the one you dream of?
That answer lies in what I call the trifecta of business. This is the 3 step check and balance we use to make sure the systems, processes and workflows you set up in your business build the life you dream of.
Outcomes. Values. Actions.
These are yours, and yours alone. And when you ensure that the systems you are setting up support your personal outcomes, align with your values, and will support your commitments to action you will find that your business becomes the business you have always dreamed of.
First, consider your outcome. This is about what you want to achieve and is so much more than a single, measurable goal. It is, instead, the objective outcomes you would like to achieve. What lifestyle do you want to live? How do you want to spend your days? What are YOU working towards?
Second, get clear on your values. We all have slightly different values, beliefs that drive our everyday decisions. Make sure that the values you hold are clear and unwavering. With this clarity and confidence you are able to make decisions about the systems and workflows that will work for your business.
Finally, be honest about the actions you are willing to take, and then commit to them. It’s easy for us as business owners to overcommit or feel like we can force ourselves to do things that may be uncomfortable. We get excited when we watch a video or read a book and just KNOW we can do the things they tell us we have to do. And then our excitement wanes. It gets hard to keep doing the thing because it’s not something that is in our wheelhouse. So we quit. We get frustrated and discouraged and let ourselves down on our commitment to action.
And our business doesn’t grow.
Or it grows and we grow to hate it.
Either way, our dreams of impact and freedom fade and we begin to think we are broken, the gurus are wrong, this will never work and we give up on our dreams.
When ultimately, all that’s really happened is exactly what we could have predicted.
When we left ourselves out of the business the business failed us.

So please believe me when I say, it’s not that your business is different, it’s that YOU are different. And knowing that, and taking that into consideration when you build systems and processes in your business, you will finally achieve the business and life success you’ve been dreaming of.
